Absolute Homes is a Christchurch-based building company, predominantly building new homes for first and second home buyers. We build high quality homes but without the complexities of a corporate building company model. Absolute Homes also builds quality relationships with our clients – maintaining communication is pivotal to this.

Owner and Director, Chris Cawthray, is a qualified carpenter and Licensed Building Practitioner. Chris project manages all Absolute Homes’ new home builds, Ange is the business manager and accountant.
Chris trained and worked in the New Zealand building industry before moving overseas. He worked for fifteen years in the United Kingdom, gaining valuable knowledge and experience in running his own construction business. A decisive and results-driven leader, Chris focuses on delivering quality outcomes for our clients.
Ange and Chris met in the UK, ran their construction business and started a family, then returned to New Zealand to provide a better quality of life for their daughters.
Ange is a qualified Accountant. Having gained accounting experience in New Zealand and the UK, she now works fulltime in her crucial role supporting the sustainability of Absolute Homes and its strong work culture.
Design Consultant
Our design consultant works with Absolute Homes to make the build process easier for you. She will help you make decisions at each stage of the build process. From choosing door handles, to paint colours and floor coverings, she is passionate about making sure you’re left with wonderful memories of building your new home.

We are a Licensed Building Practitioner
The Licensed Building Practitioner scheme was established under the Building Act 2004.
Absolute Homes has been assessed as competent to carry out work essential to a residential building’s structure or weather tightness. Obtaining licensing status also enables us to carry out or supervise restricted building work (RBW).
As a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP), Absolute Homes receives important updates re: industry regulatory and technical changes. We are also required to undertake skills maintenance, to continue to add to our knowledge and proficiency, and to ensure we meet our obligations.
